Greetings HTM Professionals of Georgia!

I would like to thank you all for the support over the past few years from the vendors and participants of HTMA-GA.  Unfortunately, my professional responsibilities have grown to where supporting HTMA-GA as the president has not become an option, so I must officially resign from position.

I have attempted to recruit an interim replacement, however, this has been unsuccessful to date.  I feel that we have laid a solid foundation for an organization in Georgia that is well complimented by our sister organization in South Carolina. This organization can be anything that you want it to be and our profession deserves extracurricular organizations of support like this one.

HTMA-GA is looking for a president that can take control and drive participation and growth that creates value for the supporting vendors and HTM community.

If you have any interest driving this organization to new levels and recruiting the leadership to support you, reach out to the HTMA-GA Treasurer Pat Lynch at patrick@plynch.us

Be Well and All the Best,

Successful HTMA-GA/HTMA-SC Joint Conference

Ben Archambault, from Adept Health, teaching a class on Basic Cyber Security on Medical Devices in Colombia, GA.

HTMA-GA and HTMA-SC had a successful joint conference for 2017.  Held in Columbia, members from all over SC and Northeast Georgia attended.  Classes included a cyber security class for medical devices, PMs on the AMX4, a CE Leaders Roundtable, CMS regulations, and more.

With approximately 100 attendees and over 20 vendors, we believe that all expectations of the vendors and attendees were met and exceeded.

Bridging the Gap Between IT and HTM

On October 20th, Boardmembers Pat Lynch of Biomeds Without Borders and Sarah Lee wit MIT attended "An Evening of Networking and Exploration" sponsored by the HIMSS GA chapter in an effort to build bridges between IS and IT in healthcare and the HTM profession.

Pat Lynch satated, "It is our belief that as the people in hospitals that maintain and manage the medical devices and patient care equipment, that any exploration of the Patient Experience that includes healthcare Information Technology would be improved by our involvement."

HTMA-GA hopes to further explore opportunities with Healthcare IT.

AMX-4 Class at Piedmont Healthcare in Atlanta a Great Success

On March 9, 2016 at 5PM on the Piedmont Atlanta campus, HTMA-GA held a succesful class on the AMX-4. Calibration, preventive maintenance, and common failures were covered.  The event was taught by Bill Bentley of AMX Solutions and Michael Ragan of Piedmont Healthcare.  Digital X-ray Services (DXS), Southeastern Biomedical, and Troff Medical (links are at the bottom of this page) sponsored the event.

We look forward to more rewarding meetups in the near future!

Here are some quotes from the attendees:

"We had a great meeting and an informative class on the basics of preventative maintenance on the Amx 4 Plus.  The class, taught by Mr. Bill Bentley and assisted by Michael Ragan of Piedmont Atlanta,  was outstanding.  The information in the form of literature about error codes and common problems that have been experienced was well received by the Biomeds in attendance.

This meeting was a real success for the attendees and the association.   I got feedback from the vendor that sponsored the event, that it was a real success for them, as well."                       -Mike Helms, Troff Medical

"We had a very good attendance and lots of involvement from the attendees. Attendees traveled from all around the state. One of the attendees volunteered to assist with more focused training to address questions. One of the sponsoring vendors had test equipment with them and allowed it to be used to demonstrate how to calibrate the AMX 4+ with it.

After the meeting there was a lot of networking and private discussions between the attendees. This made for a very successful meeting for everyone."                                                              -Steve Kelley, Piedmont Healthcare

HTMA-GA Completes A Successful 1st Annual Management Conference
Ben Lewis, President, HTMA-GA
HTMA-GA completed it's 1st Management Conference in Griffin, GA on 10/16/15.  We appreciate everyone that attended.  If we missed you this year, we sincerely hope that you attend next year.  Overall, he had a very positive response and everyone stated that it was time well spent.  We had classes that covered DNV regs on test equipment, IT security on medical equipment, and the good, bad, and ugly of contracts.  It was given in a very open forum and there was quite a bit of back and forth between the instructors and the attendees.  The conference was sponsored by AMX Solutions, GMI, and Parts Source.

HTMA-GA Completes First Education Drive Through State of Ga

HTMA-GA completed its first education/membership drive throughout the state during the third week of April, 2015.  Board member and Treasurer Pat Lynch presented an informative class on COSR or Cost of Service Ratio.  This class was intended to help give HTM professionals the tools to benchmark their programs in terms of cost efficiency.  During the week there were 45 registrants for the education events and HTMA-GA's membership grew approximately 20 percent to 121 members to date.

Thank you to all of the sponsors who supported each event with lunch and to all of those involved.
